In the refrigeration industry, thermoforming is used in the production of most interior finishing elements of refrigerators, coolers, freezers, refrigerated counters, and vending machines for drinks and snacks. Air conditioner and heat pump casings are also made using this technology. The most commonly used materials are polystyrene, ABS, polycarbonate and acrylic. Due to mass production and often large dimensions, thermoforming machines should be equipped with an automatic plate feeder and other options to speed up production: halogen heaters, central cooling system, servo drives and automatically adjusted forming window. Quite often, the use of a punch is also required due to the large embossing depths.
