The construction industry uses several interesting and popular products manufactured using the thermoforming method. These include primarily roof skylights, certain types of doors, plastic membranes for underfloor heating and “green roof” systems, bowls and containers for concrete, plaster and mortar. They also include sewage treatment plants and construction machinery components, which we have discussed in other industries. The materials mainly used in construction are polycarbonate, acrylic, polystyrene and polyethylene. The machines vary greatly depending on the product. The basic production of skylights does not require the use of a mold (blow molding), but the use of a punch is necessary. The production of membranes requires a special, fast machine with halogen lamps, a roll material feeder and a stacker.
